Product Description
The history of microbes is an interesting one. Microorganisms came into being after the magma that enveloped the Earth cooled into rock. Microorganisms first appeared as blue-green algae type microorganisms surviving on toxins such as ammonia and sulfuric acid and producing oxygen through photosynthesis. These microorganisms created the nutrients necessary for plant life by using carbon dioxide to synthesize organic matter while at the same time dissolving the rock; creating soil.
Microorganisms also played a role in the development of plants as they began to grow in the clay-like soil. The types of soils determined the kinds of seeds that thrived in it and this varied from region to region. Grass led to shrubs and eventually came the forests.
